Who We Are

Located in West Dallas, just minutes from downtown, Bishop Arts, and Trinity Groves, we offer private and group instruction for children, teens, and adults who wish to pursue recreational dance instruction in a supportive and encouraging setting.

We also offer intensive training and personalized coaching. The specialized curriculum of our Company Program is based on the Vaganova method and is designed for dedicated students who have a strong desire to pursue a professional career in dance.

Our goal is to foster a community where excellence and accessibility exist side by side. Not only to produce skilled dancers, but to provide our students with the confidence, discipline, and resilience that will serve them down any path they choose.

Director

Maddie received her early ballet training from Tanju and Patricia Tuzer of Tuzer Ballet.  The Tuzer’s impressive professional careers and relentless passion and dedication to classical ballet instruction were a huge inspiration, even at a young age. So, when she was invited to attend the Kirov Academy of Ballet’s year-round boarding program, she took the opportunity. After 3 years of dancing with the Ballet Ensemble of Texas and graduating high school, Maddie accepted a full artistic scholarship to Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts.

During her time at SMU, she was invited to travel abroad to Urbania, Italy  where she performed as a guest artist at the Dance Master Class intensive. She began her professional career here in Texas with Dallas NeoClassical Ballet. With DNCB, she performed in many original productions, as well as in revivals of classics from the Ballet Russes. In addition to performing in principal and soloist roles with companies around DFW, her dancing is featured in the Polyphonic Spree’s Grammy Nominated film Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody for the Soul. She was also a founding company member of Ballet North Texas.

In 2021, she founded Bishop Street Ballet - a nonprofit, professional ballet company and the resident company of the historic Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff. Now, as Artistic Director, she and her dancers choreograph, produce, and perform original productions in collaboration with other prominent Texas artists.
